ACG Parnell College’s new five-storey facility creates a seamless transition between the campus’s traditional red brick buildings and its modern architecture. A defining feature of this connection is the stairwell, where Insol Solaris 200x50 aluminium louvres with a Metwood Dark Kwila finish wrap two exposed sides, introducing height, rhythm, and a sense of privacy. Their close spacing provides effective shading while still allowing natural light and outward views, ensuring the space feels open, comfortable, and secure for students moving between levels.
With the Metwood Dark Kwila finish, the louvres bring warmth to the structure while maintaining the durability of aluminium. Their dual function as both shading and balustrade enhances safety without compromising the design, transforming the stairwell into a purposeful architectural feature rather than just a transitional space. The result is a cohesive solution where powder coating and louvre design work together to support both performance and student experience.
